October 2016: Local Food Events in and around Ballarat
We’re all waiting for the weather to warm up, and many of us are getting our veggie gardens started for the summer. Here are some local food events to get you out and about despite the changeable weather! These are just some of the highlights – see our event calendar for more!
- This weekend is just jumping with activities, including a Fermented Grains Workshop hosted by Hepburn Culture Club, the Ballarat Community Garden produce swap, and more farmers markets than you can shake a stick at (see our complete farmers market guide for more info)
- Mitchell Harris are hosting the Western Victoria Wine Challenge on October 8th, and on the 23rd their monthly tasting event takes you on a tour of sparkling wines including those from Western Victoria.
- Trentham Neighbourhood Centre are running a dumpling making workshop on the 23rd.
- Also, don’t forget to check the opening hours for Ballarat Wholefoods Collective and Creswick Wholefoods Collective on our event calendar. Creswick are open today despite the Grand Final holidays though I’m not sure about Ballarat!
